In the 19th century how did the intelligentsia get their kicks? By getting hold of an Egyptian mummy and coming together to watch as it was unwrapped by an Egyptologist. This gin takes the aromatics used in an embalming, and which you might find in, on or around a dead pharaoh.

Nose: Initially sulphuric, herbaceous scents, rosemary and spice.Palate: Honey sweet, herbs, spice and everything nice.
Finish: A lasting caraway spice, honey, star anise.

Rhubarb isn’t just for puddings or boiled sweets anymore. The herbaceous perennial is enjoying a resurgence in popularity not only in the culinary world – the terrific tang of rhubarb is carving out its own place in the world of booze! We wanted in on the fun, and thus, our Rhubarb Triangle Gin was born. We’ve sourced rhubarb solely from the famous Rhubarb Triangle, formed by the cities of Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield, to make it – you might even recognise a hint towards these cities on the label…
Nose: The sparkling zing of crisp rhubarb with lemon shortbread.
Taste: A voluptuous texture with powerful rhubarb notes coming through, complex and fresh. A zip of citrus, pinch of spice and then the unmistakable dry flavour of juniper.
Finish: Refined and lasting hints of rhubarb crumble, rhubarb soda, and even a touch of rhubarb and custard sweets. -
TBYGC – Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin

A rather cheeky new addition from That Boutique-y Gin Company: Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin.
Popular in the 1920s, but long since forgotten, pineapple gin is back with a 21st century twist. Whole pineapples are roasted on a spit with Demerara sugar until a beautiful caramelisation occurs. The pineapple is then combined with some bold and bright gin.The result? The height of decadence and avarice that needs to be tasted to be believed.
Nose: The inside of a pineapple fritter – juicy, with a touch of zestiness and light caramel.
Taste: An indulgent harmony of flavours greet the tongue: a beautiful mix of sweet and sour pineapple and rich, sweet caramel.
Finish: Lingering sweet pineapple, as well as the dry, crisp freshness of the gin, inviting you back in for another sip. -
TBYGC – Strawberry & Balsamico Gin

That Boutique-y Gin Company created an astoundingly decadent tipple with Strawberry & Balsamico Gin. A classic gin base acts as a canvas for the addition of fresh strawberries, strawberry and black pepper distillates and the very finest balsamic vinegar money can buy – Aceto di Balsamico tradizionale di Modena DOP, aged between 12 and 25 years in casks made from chestnut, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash and juniper (of course).
Nose: Dark red fruits – cherry, strawberry and cranberry – mixed with the rich and mysterious darkness of the balsamic, creating a rich chocolate-treacle note.
Taste: A delightful balance between the plump, juicy strawberries and the complexity of the balsamic, which provides some woodiness and a touch of refined bitterness, but minimal acidity.
Finish: Cinder toffee and the lasting sweetness of strawberry. When it comes to flavours, you really do get two for the price of one with this gin! -
Wolfburn Aurora

NAS Sherry Barrel
A late 2016 release from the Wolfburn distillery, matured in a combination of casks – 40% of this whisky was aged in second-fill quarter casks, 40% in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and 20% in first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads. An exciting release from the distillery.Nose: Almonds and pecans, with a wave of sweet, sticky Sherry notes.
Palate: Raisins, currants, more mixed nuts and fresh barley.
Finish: Lingering Sherried spice on the finish.

Wolfburn Langskip

NAS Bourbon Barrel
Another ace whisky from the Wolfburn distillery way up in the north of Scotland. Langskip is matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks and is bottled at a generous 58% ABV, making it a particularly powerfully flavoursome dram. Impressive as ever from Wolfburn.Nose: Demerara sugar, gingerbread, floral malt, white pepper and sugared almonds
Palate: Dried fruit begins to take control on the palate – think sultana and apricot. Still enjoyably nutty with walnut and macadamia. A good helping of nutmeg and stem ginger gives it some heat.
Finish: Last toffee apple sweetness and black pepper.

Wolfburn Morven

NAS Lightly Peated
A late 2017 addition to Wolfburn’s core range, Morven is a lightly peated single malt from the northernmost distillery in mainland Scotland. This expression rounds out the distillery’s range well (which also features their signature Northland Single Malt and the handsomely Sherried Aurora Single Malt) and shows that the relatively new distillery has plenty to offer already.Nose: Fresh notes of juicy apple and white grape are deliciously juxtaposed with earthy, mineral-y peat.
Palate: Nutty malt pairs well with soft smoke, joined by peppered oak and caramelised fruit developing later on.
Finish: Sweet hints of shortbread and ginger stick around on the finish.

Wolfburn Northland

Becoming Scotland’s northernmost mainland whisky producing distillery when it released its first single malt in March 2016, Wolfburn is built just 350m away from the ruins of the 19th century distillery from which it takes its name. With long fermentation, slow manual distillation and maturation taking place at least partly in quarter casks that previously held peated whisky from Islay, this is a release we’ve eagerly anticipated!Nose: Orchard fruits, apple pie, a fresh maltiness, almonds, magnolia and a suggestion of smoke
Palate: Honey Nut Clusters breakfast cereal, sweet spices, chocolate croissant, more honey towards the end, and a subtle earthy peatiness.
Finish: Long and fresh, with even more rich honey notes
Overall: A deliciously complex single malt from one of Scotland’s newer distilleries – they are hitting it out of the park!
